I wrote this during a night of restless sleep and fever — that state between waking and sleeping where thoughts arrive vivid and then dissolve before you can hold on to them.
It stays quiet almost throughout: delicate textures, ethereal harmonies, gentle and sometimes unsettling, but soft in the end. If you don’t have a tam-tam, leave it out.
Nothing here is technically demanding. What it asks for is control, and players who listen across the ensemble rather than count.
